New Jersey Bell Telephone Co. green 1A payphone. The 1A is a coin first model and is not convertible to dial tone first. Note the metal coin return chute (with the red X on it) on the coin scanner. Also note the early dull chrome face plate and coin return assembly. The phone also has the early tear drop shaped coin return lever and early gray plastic tongue in the handset cradle. The handset is without a rubber grommet. Interesting, the instruction card tells you what exchanges you can dial from the phone. The upper housing lock is a 29A-46 and the vault lock is a 30A.
